The South Facade Windows are Removed

Updated: Jun 20

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Holy Trinity

Now that the Rose Window on the north facade of the Church has been fully restored to its original magnificence, we have begun the removal and renovation of the three large windows on the south facade, located behind the sanctuary. The windows are being removed, labelled piece by piece, and transported to the studio of Artglass in Pretoria, where they will be cleaned, renovated, and the lead replaced.

At this stage, we are uncertain about the exact duration of this process. We are, however, hoping that the windows will be back by the end of 2025.

While the windows are being removed, the sanctuary area is unavailable for safety reasons, and we have had to make alternative arrangements. There will also be some interruption to the usual routine, but this will be brief. By next week, the windows will be out and the sanctuary will be accessible again. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.

Earlier this year, we embarked upon the mammoth task of restoring the windows as they were becoming frail, and pieces were falling out. Thank you to all who have contributed to this process; we are truly grateful!
