Sanctuary - Left Window
The Nativity and God’s Providence

The left sanctuary window at Holy Trinity Church beautifully illustrates the Nativity and moments of divine providence in salvation history. Its vibrant colours and intricate designs invite the viewer to reflect on the wonder of Christ's birth and the significance of key biblical events leading to God’s salvation plan.
At the top, God the Father is depicted enthroned, surrounded by the Alpha and Omega, symbols of His eternal nature. Below Him, the Holy Spirit, represented as a dove, radiates divine light, signifying God’s continual guidance and presence. The surrounding angels, with expressions of reverence, frame this heavenly scene, bringing a celestial element to the narrative.
The lower panels focus on pivotal moments, beginning with the Nativity of Christ. The Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph are shown tenderly adoring the Christ Child, surrounded by the rustic simplicity of the manger. To the side, shepherds approach in humble reverence, bearing witness to the newborn Saviour.
Further below, additional panels depict other stories of providence, including the young Moses saved in a basket, symbolising God’s intervention and care for His people. These biblical vignettes remind us of the unfolding plan of salvation, culminating in the birth of Christ.
This window is a testament to the beauty of God’s redemptive plan and invites worshippers to meditate on the love and care He provides throughout history. Its restoration will ensure these inspiring images continue to lift hearts and minds to God for generations to come.
